(Tuesday, December 1, 2009)

ATTENDEES:  Fr. Berardi, Jack Abrahams, Bill Beneszewski, Steve Fiato, Carollee Lebruzzo,

Kathleen & John McDonnell, Dan Noel, Nancy Normandin, Mickey Onofrietto, John Scrivo,

Kory Smith, Bill Wattendorf

(Excused:  Peggy Bress, John Folino, June Johnson, Barbara Lynn)

(Absentee:  Deacon Frank Herlihy)

PRESIDER:  Nancy Normandin

We read our mission statement together; to remember we are a group providing and extending assistance to our pastor fostering Christ like activity and leadership within the parish community.

The opening prayer was read by all.

REFLECTION:  Open discussion on Luke 4:16-22.  The reading reminded us to seek ways to   administer love and kindness in our daily lives.  Extension of oneself can be done in the simplest way:  listen attentively when someone is speaking to you, become more astute to people when looking at them, become more sensitive, and reach out to one another. Love in a Christ like way.

Minutes of October 2009 meeting approved by Mickey Onofrietto and seconded by John McDonnell. .

BUILDING PROJECT: Fr. Berardi reports that construction has begun and moving along according to plan.

ADMINISTRATION/FINANCE REPORT:  Fr. Berardi and the committee have decided that    professional fund raising is not feasible at this time.  Although we are presently up to date with payments on the renovations to the church, come early spring borrowing money from the diocese will be imperative.  It is hoped that the generosity of our parishioners and the planned events will keep us up to date with accrued payments.

COMMENTS ON CLOSING OF THE CHAPEL:  Continued efforts are being made to combine Chapel and Sacred Heart Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Ushers and Greeters.  Future meetings with each group will be planned after the holidays.

COMMITTEE UPDATES:   Christian Education:  Following the 9:00am mass, “The Nativity Story” will be shown on Sunday, December 20th at 10:00am.  We are also getting good feedback from the kids and parents.  Prayer and Worship:  Doing well.  Christian Service:  Food pantry and community dinners continue to go well.  Youth Group:  Retreat on Saturday, November 28th had a great response and went very well.

The next Pastoral Council meeting is to be announced.

The meeting was closed with all attendees reciting the Hail Mary.

Respectfully submitted,

Kory Smith
