Baptismal Preparation
| Baptismal Preparation is held monthly. It is specifically for first time parents but all parents of newly born children and godparents are invited to attend. Currently, new parents attend the preparation that is offered on a designated Saturday morning of the month. The Rite and the symbols of the sacrament are explored and discussed. We stress that parent(s) are the first faith formation teachers of their child/children and that it is their responsibility to provide the child/children an example of living out their faith. The Sacrament of Baptism is provided once a month during the weekend liturgy.
Our goal is to develop a ministry made up of parents who are able to provide this service. It is our hope that once a team of parents is available, they will also assist the parents at the time of the baptism. Questions, please contact Deacon Frank Herlihy deaconh@nycap.rr.com |
